Chief Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the forthcoming election in Oyo State following the party’s primary election.

Adegoke, an Ibadan traditional chief, defeated other aspirants, including Adebisi Olopoeyan Ilaka, in the keenly contested exercise.
Announcing the results, Chairman of the screening committee, Rasak Salinsile, disclosed that Adegoke secured 16,051 votes to emerge victorious, while Ilaka polled 11,415 votes.

Gbemileke Alagbe came third with 241 votes.


Former Oyo State Commissioner for Health, Azeez Adeduntan, garnered 155 votes, while Niyi Aborisade secured 67 votes.



The emergence of Adegoke as the ADC flag bearer is expected to influence the political landscape ahead of the governorship election in the state.
