Produce your INEC form if you have one – Ibadan South West II ADC members respond, insisting ILA-born Abeeb Balogun was not a member when the list was submitted

Members of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Ibadan South West State Constituency II have challenged one Abeeb Balogun, popularly known as AIB, to stop deceiving himself and produce his Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, nomination form if truly he is the candidate of the party.

The party members and stakeholders across the constituency on Saturday, said AIB was never a member of the ADC as at the time the party submitted its membership register and nomination list to INEC.

According to them, the claim by Abeeb Balogun that he is the ADC flag-bearer for Ibadan South West State Constituency II is false, misleading and an attempt to confuse unsuspecting members of the public and constituents who already know the truth.

“Stop deceiving yourself as members of your constituency are aware of the truth. Produce your INEC nomination form if you have one. You cannot claim to be a candidate of a party you never belonged to at the time of submission,” the statement read in part.

The party members explained that INEC has clear guidelines and timelines for submission of membership lists and candidate nominations, and that as at the time the ADC complied with the directive, Abeeb Balogun AIB was not captured as a member of the party in Ibadan South West Constituency II.

They further stated that the authentic and recognized candidate of the ADC for the constituency is known to all genuine party members and leaders, and that any contrary claim should be disregarded.

The stakeholders warned AIB to desist from parading himself as a candidate of the ADC, noting that such impersonation is not only fraudulent but capable of causing disaffection within the party.

They called on the leadership of the ADC at the state and national levels, as well as INEC to take note of the antics of Abeeb Balogun and prevent him from misleading the electorate.

“The members of Ibadan South West State Constituency II know who their true candidate is. No amount of propaganda and falsehood can change the record that exists with INEC and our great party. If you claim to be our candidate, come out with your INEC nomination form for everyone to see,” they added.
