Residents of Ward 12, Ibadan South-West Local Government, are set to witness a massive solidarity walk championed by Hon. Olakunle Akinsete, popularly known as Shete.
The Ward 12 Solidarity Walk is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, by 8:00 a.m., with take-off point at Olympus Lounge, Odo-Ona, Ibadan.
The initiative is aimed at fostering unity, strengthening relationships and promoting a renewed spirit of togetherness among the people of the ward.
According to the convener, the walk will bring together residents, community leaders, youths, women, political stakeholders and supporters in a collective demonstration of solidarity and shared purpose.
The central message of the walk is that the strength of Ward 12 lies in its unity, and its future is brighter when the people move forward together.
Ward 12 is home to people with diverse interests and aspirations, but these differences should serve as a source of strength rather than division. The solidarity walk will therefore create an avenue for people to connect, interact and embrace the values that bind them together as one community.
For Hon. Akinsete, the walk represents an opportunity to encourage greater understanding and cooperation, noting that community development thrives on unity, mutual respect and collective effort.
Beyond politics, the walk will serve as a platform for grassroots engagement, celebrating the common identity and collective aspirations of the people of Ward 12.
Residents and supporters are encouraged to come out in large numbers to participate in what promises to be a memorable show of solidarity.
