Honourable Councillors across Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency have declared their support for the House of Representatives ambition of Allied People’s Movement (APM) candidate, Engr. Toheeb Adegoke, popularly known as ADLAT, ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging to mobilize support for the party across wards and communities within the constituency.

The declaration came during a strategic meeting held between Engr. Toheeb Adegoke ADLAT and honorable councillors from Akinyele and Lagelu local government areas, where discussions centered on grassroots leadership, political inclusion, and the future of representation within the federal constituency.
The meeting was led by the Leader of the House in Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Kazeem Kolawole Rafiu, alongside the Leader of the House in Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Idogbe Aduragbemi, with several Honourable Councillors in attendance.

According to sources present at the meeting, the councillors unanimously expressed confidence in the leadership capacity and political direction of Engr. Toheeb Adegoke ADLAT, describing him as one of the few emerging political figures who remains deeply connected to the grassroots.


The honorable councillors also reportedly assured the APM candidate of their readiness to work collectively towards ensuring the party records a strong outing in the constituency during the 2027 elections.


Participants at the meeting emphasized the need for a new style of representation rooted in accessibility, engagement and direct understanding of the challenges confronting ordinary residents across Akinyele and Lagelu communities.

Speaking at the meeting, Engr. Toheeb Adegoke ADLAT described the engagement as productive and inspiring, noting that the level of unity and commitment shown by the councillors reflects a growing political movement within the constituency.
“Our discussions were sincere and focused on the people. What stood out clearly is the shared belief that our constituency deserves leadership that listens, understands the grassroots, and stays connected to the people at all times,” he said.
He further appreciated the Honourable Councillors for their support, openness and commitment towards building what he described as “a stronger and more people-focused Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency.”

Political observers say the meeting may signal early grassroots alignment within the constituency ahead of the 2027 elections, especially as political parties and aspirants gradually intensify consultations and local mobilization efforts across Oyo State.For the APM, the public endorsement from councillors across both local governments is expected to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and reinforce Engr. Toheeb Adegoke ADLAT’s growing visibility within the constituency ahead of the electoral contest.
