The Forum of 33 Local Government Secretaries in Oyo State has strongly condemned what it described as an alleged plot to impeach Governor Seyi Makinde, declaring that any such move is “dead on arrival” and will not succeed.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday, the forum dismissed the reported impeachment agenda as unfounded and politically motivated, insisting that the governor continues to enjoy the confidence and support of key stakeholders across the state.
The secretaries, who serve at the grassroots level of governance, reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to Governor Makinde, commending his administration’s developmental strides and commitment to good governance in Oyo State.

They warned against any form of external interference in the affairs of the state government through the State Assembly, stressing that attempts by outside forces to influence the political structure or decision-making process within the state would be firmly resisted.

According to the forum, Oyo State’s political landscape should be allowed to operate independently, without undue pressure or intrusion from individuals or groups seeking to destabilize the existing order.

The group further emphasized that Governor Makinde’s leadership has continued to foster stability, transparency, and inclusive governance, noting that any attempt to truncate his administration through unconstitutional means would be counterproductive.

Reiterating their position, the forum called on political actors to prioritize the peace and progress of the state over personal or partisan interests, urging all stakeholders to support the governor in delivering democratic dividends to the people.

The statement concluded with a renewed pledge of allegiance to the Makinde-led administration, assuring residents of the secretaries’ continued commitment to strengthening governance at the local government level.
