Over 20 Mogajis from Ibadanland on Saturday participated in a political engagement at Fresh FM 105.9 Ibadan, where they met with the President of Boye Nation, Hon. Ajiboye Akande Sangogade, who reaffirmed his support for Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) governorship candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The gathering took place during Adekanmbi’s appearance on Political Circuit Exclusive, a live radio programme hosted by Isaac Brown, popularly known as The Mayor, where the APM candidate discussed his manifesto, proposed programmes and vision for the state if elected governor in 2027.
The Mogajis were present to welcome Adekanmbi and his deputy governorship candidate, Engr. Muftau Open-Salawu, while also engaging with political stakeholders on the evolving political situation in Oyo State.
The major highlight of the gathering was the interaction between Sangogade and the Ibadan traditional representatives. During the meeting, the Boye Nation president reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Makinde and Adekanmbi as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Sangogade’s declaration added a significant political dimension to the engagement, drawing attention to the consultations and emerging alignments among political actors and stakeholders across the state.
The meeting also highlighted the intersection of traditional institutions and contemporary politics in Ibadanland, where Mogajis play important roles in community affairs and participate in discussions concerning governance, development and the future of Oyo State.
During the radio programme, Adekanmbi responded to questions about his manifesto and proposed policies, outlining his vision for the state and the programmes he intends to pursue if entrusted with the mandate of the electorate.
The engagement provided an opportunity for political leaders, traditional representatives and other stakeholders to exchange views at a time when political activities are gradually gathering momentum ahead of the next governorship election.
Sangogade’s reaffirmation of support for Makinde and Adekanmbi emerged as the central political message from his interaction with the Mogajis, further positioning Boye Nation within the ongoing political conversations surrounding the 2027 Oyo State governorship contest.
As preparations for the election continue, engagements involving traditional representatives, political movements and candidates are expected to remain an important part of efforts to communicate political positions, build alliances and articulate expectations for the future of Oyo State.
