Oriire Abduction: Oyo Youth Parliament Hails Makinde, Security Agencies Over Safe Rescue of Pupils, Teachers

The Oyo State Youth Parliament, Third Assembly, has lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers recently abducted in Oriire Local Government Area, describing the operation as a reflection of responsive leadership and the effectiveness of Oyo State’s security architecture.

In a statement issued by the Speaker of the Third Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oyekola Marvellous Oluwatobi, on behalf of the 32 Honourable Members of the Parliament, the youth legislative body expressed profound appreciation to the Governor for his swift intervention and unwavering commitment to ensuring the safe return of the victims.

The Parliament noted that the prompt coordination of security agencies and the deployment of necessary resources by the state government played a significant role in securing the freedom of the abducted pupils and teachers, reaffirming Governor Makinde’s resolve to prioritize the safety and welfare of residents.

The lawmakers also paid tribute to the officers and personnel of the various security agencies, local intelligence operatives, and all individuals whose professionalism, courage, and dedication contributed to the success of the rescue operation.

According to the statement, the Youth Parliament remains confident in the ongoing efforts of the Oyo State Government to strengthen security across the state and urged residents to continue supporting law enforcement agencies by providing credible and timely information capable of preventing criminal activities.

“As the foremost legislative platform representing the interests of young people in Oyo State, the Third Assembly remains committed to supporting policies and initiatives that promote peace, security, youth empowerment, and sustainable development across the thirty-three Local Government Areas of the state,” the statement added.

The Parliament further rejoiced with the families of the rescued pupils and teachers, describing their safe return as a source of relief and hope for all residents of Oyo State.

It also prayed for continued wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for Governor Seyi Makinde and security agencies as they sustain efforts toward preserving peace and making Oyo State one of the safest states in Nigeria.
