APC Women Leader Takes Financial Empowerment Scheme to Ibarapa, Reaffirms Support for Tinubu’s Reforms

The ongoing empowerment initiative spearheaded by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leader in Oyo State, Dr. (Mrs.) Felicia Opatunde, reached the Ibarapa Zone yesterday, benefiting women across Ibarapa East, Ibarapa Central, and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas.

Addressing beneficiaries at the APC Secretariat Eruwa and Igbo-Ora Community Hall, Igbo-Ora, Dr. Opatunde explained that the initiative aims to cushion current economic hardships by providing targeted financial support to grassroots women.

She commended the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that while the policy adjustments present temporary challenges, they are already yieding long-term economic relief for the nation in terms of road networks, improved in security, transportation and financial assistance for students in higher institutions among others.

She urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the financial support, to elevate their standard of living and boost their livelihoods.

Extolling the initiative, key party stakeholders in Ibarapa East—including apex leaders Pa Timothy Alarape Jolaoso and Mrs. Ramota Okemakinde, alongside Oyo South Senatorial Women Leader Mrs. Mojibade Adetona—praised Dr. Opatunde. Local government women leaders Evangelist Babajide Bosede (Ibarapa East), Mrs. Morakinyo Hasanat Taiwo (Ibarapa Central), and Mrs. Akintola Aminat (Ibarapa North) also commended the effort, describing it as an unprecedented milestone in the history of the party’s women wing in Oyo State.

The leaders unanimously pledged to mobilize grassroots women to generate robust support for President Tinubu’s re-election and ensure victory for all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections across Ibarapa land.

Similarly, Campaign Director-Generals Hon. Egunbambi Waliu (Ibarapa Central), Hon. Liasu Ololade Shittu (Ibarapa North), and Hon. Dauda Raji (Ibarapa East) offered goodwill messages, appealing to the women to remain steadfast in their prayers and maximum support for the party.

Following the event, Dr. Opatunde paid a courtesy visit to the residence of the immediate past Oyo State APC Chairman, Alhaji Moshood Olayide Abas.

Expressing his delight at the visit, Alhaji Abas commended Dr. Opatunde for her commitment to women’s welfare, stating that such proactive drives will significantly strengthen and project the party’s image positively.

Dr. Opatunde was accompanied on the tour by key party officials, including Deputy Women Leader Hon. Fatima Hassan, Oyo North Senatorial Women Leader Mrs. Yetunde Oyebode, Akinyele LG Women Leader Mrs. Oyewole Omolabake, Ona-Ara LG Women Leader, Mrs Felicia Olatunde, former Governor Ajimobi’s aides, Princess Taiwo Adetunji and Feyisayo Oladiipo, and former Oyo South Senatorial Women Leader Mrs. Taiwo Moteleola.
