The Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Alhaji AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju has been commended for his exceptional administrative performance and unwavering support towards ensuring the safety and security of lives and properties in the Council area.

The commendation came from the Oyo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Augustine Ayodeji Padonu, during a courtesy call on the Executive Chairman at the Council Secretariat, Onireke, Ibadan.

Commandant Padonu described Alh. Adepoju as an outstanding grassroots administrator who has spread his tentacles across key sectors to bring relief and development to the people. He noted that the Chairman’s strategic support to security agencies, particularly the NSCDC divisional command in the council area has reinforced his commitment to peace and safety within the local government.

He emphasized that securing lives and properties should not be left to security agencies alone but should be a joint responsibility of all stakeholders. He added that his visit to local governments and key stakeholders across the state is aimed at strengthening synergy and developing holistic strategies to curb criminal activities within the Local Government and the state as a whole.

In his response, Alh. AbdulRahman Adepoju appreciated the Commandant and his team for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting all security agencies operating within the local government. He promised to continue providing the necessary logistics and cooperation to enhance their operational effectiveness.
Earlier in her welcome remarks, the Head of Local Government Administration Mrs. Rachael Olabode, appreciated the NSCDC Boss for deeming it fit to engage directly with the Council leadership. She proudly noted that Ibadan Northwest Local Government remains one of the most peaceful local governments in the state. She commended the diligence and dedication of all security agencies, including the NSCDC in the state.

She further praised the Local government NSCDC divisional officers for their steadfastness and professional conduct which have contributed immensely to the peace and stability of the council area.

In attendance with the Executive Chairman to receive the State Commandant and his entourage were the Chief of staff and Heads of Departments led by the Head of the Local Government Administration(HLGA) Mrs Rachael Olabode.
