A group of supporters within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed allegations suggesting that the party governorship candidate in Oyo State, Olooye Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke, intends to use financial influence to sway members of the party.

In a statement circulated among party supporters, the group described the claims as unfounded and capable of creating unnecessary division within the Oyo State chapter of the ADC.

The statement emphasized that democratic participation within the party is guaranteed for all members and that political contests should be guided by facts, due process, and respect for party institutions rather than personal attacks and allegations.

Supporters highlighted Adegoke’s record of engagement with party members across Oyo State, maintaining that his interactions have been focused on consultation, inclusiveness, and the pursuit of collective progress. They argued that his political activities have consistently reflected a commitment to the development of the state.

The group further urged aggrieved members to utilize the ADC’s internal dispute resolution mechanisms in addressing concerns relating to party primaries and internal affairs. According to the statement, democracy is strengthened when disagreements are resolved through established constitutional and institutional channels.

Reaffirming confidence in Adegoke’s emergence as the party’s governorship candidate, the supporters maintained that the process was conducted fairly and in accordance with party guidelines.

They also called on stakeholders, particularly youths within the party, to channel their energy toward strengthening the ADC and advancing solutions to the challenges facing Oyo State rather than engaging in divisive rhetoric.

The statement concluded with an appeal for unity among party members, stressing that the future of Oyo State should be built on leadership, service, and development rather than accusations capable of undermining party cohesion.
