The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, in Oyo State, Engr. Open Salawu, has expressed gratitude over the safe release of Mrs. Alamu, the principal, and school children abducted from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a statement on Friday, Salawu described the development as a moment of relief for the victims’ families, the school community, and residents of Ogbomoland and Oyo State.
He noted the timing of the incident and the rescue, saying, “What a coincidence — Friday to Friday. The incident occurred on Friday, 15th May, and their release came today, Friday, 10th July,” he said.
The APM chieftain added: “We are deeply grateful to everyone who worked to secure the release of our people. We also pray to Almighty God for His protection, that such an occurrence will never happen again. Thank you, and we truly appreciate you.”

Open Salawu, who is the Babalaje of Ogbomosoland and Giwa Adinni of Oyo state, however commended security agencies, government officials, traditional rulers, community leaders, and all stakeholders whose efforts contributed to the safe return of the victims.
He urged authorities to strengthen security around schools and communities across the state to prevent a recurrence and ensure that those responsible for the abduction are apprehended and prosecuted.
