Concerned leaders, members and stakeholders of Ward 08 in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State have petitioned the State Chairman of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM)/PDP Alliance, calling for the removal of the ward chairman over alleged misconduct, disunity, unilateral decision-making and failure to adhere to the agreed APM/PDP consensus arrangement.
The petition, addressed to the State Chairman of the APM/PDP Alliance through the Chairman of Ido Local Government, was signed by members of the ward leadership, including the Vice Chairman, Women Leader, Youth Leader, Secretary, Local Executive Committee members, sub-leaders and other party stakeholders.
The petitioners said their request was made in the interest of peace, unity, fairness, discipline and the overall progress of the party in Ido Local Government, particularly the need to preserve the agreed APM/PDP alliance and consensus arrangement.
According to them, the alleged conduct of the Ward Chairman had created concerns among party members and stakeholders, with the petition highlighting seven major issues.

They alleged that the Ward Chairman had created disunity among party members and leaders; failed to consult Ward leaders and the Ward Executive Committee before taking decisions; failed to hold ward meetings when due; and personalised empowerment and other programmes meant for the ward and its members.
The petitioners further accused the chairman of unilaterally taking or attempting to take decisions concerning the councillorship candidate without following the agreed APM/PDP consensus method.
They also alleged that the Ward Chairman had failed to respect ward leaders, stakeholders and the Ward Executive Committee, while allegedly placing individual interests above the collective interests of the party and the ward.
The concerned stakeholders therefore called on the appropriate party authorities in Ido Local Government and Oyo State to investigate the allegations and take appropriate disciplinary action if the allegations are established, including removal from office.
They further requested that the selection of the councillorship candidate for the ward be conducted strictly through the agreed APM/PDP consensus process, with all relevant leaders and stakeholders given the opportunity to participate.
The petitioners said genuine consultation, fairness, collective decision-making and respect for all stakeholders remained essential to maintaining unity within the party and achieving electoral success in Ido Local Government.
The petition was signed by Mr. Morufu Olalekan, Vice Chairman; Mrs. Omowumi Olawale, Women Leader; Mr. Sunday Ajanaku, Youth Leader; Mr. Badmus Kolawole, Secretary; Hon. Lukuman Sajito, Local Executive Committee member; Mr. Alimi Olabamiji, Mr. Musibau Adigun and Mrs. Olusola Adetayo, all Sub-leaders; Mr. Sulaimon Shittu and Mr. Ayo Lanode, Leaders; Mr. Akerеле Adekunle, Leader; and Mrs. Bintu Mukaila, Executive Committee member, among others.
The allegations contained in the petition are those of the signatories and would require appropriate investigation and response by the relevant party authorities.
