Akanbi, Bello and 12 APM Councillorship Candidates Thank Party Members, Pledge Grassroots Governance in Ibadan South West

The Allied People’s Movement, APM, Chairmanship candidate for Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Idris Akanbi, on Wednesday led his running mate, Alhaji Hassan Bello, and the party’s 12 ward councillorship candidates on a thank-you visit to the local government secretariat.

The visit was to appreciate party members, ward leaders and supporters for their dedication and mobilization ahead of the forthcoming Oyo State local government elections.

Speaking to a crowd of party faithful, youth, women and community leaders, Akanbi said the visit was to show gratitude and to reaffirm the party’s commitment to grassroots governance.

“We are here first to say thank you to our members who have been working tirelessly across the 12 wards,” Akanbi said.
“We are also here to pledge that if elected, this government will be for the people. It will be inclusive, accountable, and focused on delivering real development to every community in Ibadan South West.”

Alhaji Hassan Bello, the Vice Chairmanship candidate, said the APM ticket represents unity and competence. He noted that the party’s plan centers on primary healthcare, education, youth empowerment and support for small businesses.

“Hon. Akanbi and I are coming to serve, not to rule. With the 12 councillorship candidates, we will take government to the grassroots so that every ward feels the impact,” Bello stated.

The 12 councillorship candidates were also presented to party members. Each candidate pledged to maintain an open-door policy and to work with residents to identify priority projects in their wards.

Party leaders described the appearance of the full ticket as a sign of strength and readiness. They urged members to intensify voter mobilization while conducting themselves peacefully.

“The people want results, not noise. APM is presenting a team that is ready to work from day one,” a party chieftain said.

Akanbi concluded the visit with prayers for a peaceful campaign and successful elections, saying APM remains committed to delivering governance that carries every group along in Ibadan South West.
