The Director General of the Oyo State African Democratic Congress (ADC) Governorship Campaign Council, Adetayo Kesa, Esq., has hailed the landmark judgment of the Court of Appeal nullifying the decision of the Federal High Court which sought the deregistration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and four other political parties.
Describing the judgment as “a victory for constitutional democracy, the rule of law, and the Nigerian people,” Kesa said the Court of Appeal has restored confidence in the judiciary by reaffirming that justice must always prevail over arbitrariness.
“The Court of Appeal has spoken with clarity and courage. This judgment has finally laid to rest every uncertainty surrounding the status of our great party. The ADC remains a legally recognised and formidable political party, ready to provide the purposeful leadership that Nigerians deserve,” he stated.
The Campaign Director General commended the Justices of the Court of Appeal for their unwavering commitment to justice and constitutional order, noting that the decision reinforces the independence of the judiciary and the integrity of Nigeria’s democratic process.
Kesa urged members, supporters, volunteers, and the growing family of the ADC across Oyo State not to be distracted by the distractions of the past but to channel their renewed energy towards the task of delivering a new Oyo under the leadership of the party’s governorship candidate, Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke.
“This judgment is more than a legal victory; it is a reaffirmation that the ideals of justice and democracy will always prevail. Our resolve is stronger today than ever before, and our commitment to offering Oyo State a new direction remains unwavering.”
He further noted that the overwhelming support the ADC continues to receive across the length and breadth of Oyo State is a clear indication that the people are yearning for a credible alternative built on competence, integrity, accountability, and inclusive development.
“The movement for a greater Oyo has become unstoppable. From Oke-Ogun to Ogbomoso, from Ibarapa to Oyo to Ibadan , our message of hope is resonating with the people. The ADC represents the future, and that future is within reach.”
Calling on party faithful to intensify grassroots mobilisation, Kesa said every ward, polling unit, and local government must become a centre of democratic engagement as the party prepares for the forthcoming elections.
“To every supporter of our great party, I say this: remain steadfast, remain united, and remain hopeful. The temporary clouds have cleared, and the sun is shining brightly on our journey. The Court of Appeal has reaffirmed our place in Nigeria’s democracy; now, it is time for the people of Oyo State to reaffirm their desire for competent, transparent, and people-centred governance at the ballot.”
“The mission remains unchanged. By the grace of God, with the support of the good people of Oyo State and the dedication of our members, Olooye Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke and the African Democratic Congress are well-positioned to secure victory in the forthcoming governorship election. We are not merely participating in the election; we are presenting a compelling vision for a more prosperous, secure, and inclusive Oyo State.”
The Oyo State ADC Governorship Campaign Council therefore calls on all lovers of democracy, justice, and good governance to join hands with the party in building a prosperous, secure, and economically vibrant Oyo State where government truly works for the people.
Hope is renewed. The ADC stands stronger. The movement for a better Oyo continues to gather momentum.
