Fire on Thursday night engulfed the office of Hon. Sunday Adeleke, a prominent PDP leader and chairmanship aspirant, located at 110 Iyaganku, Aleshiloye Area, Ibadan.
Eyewitnesses said the incident began at about 7:30 PM. Thick smoke was seen billowing from the building, drawing the attention of residents and passersby.
The Oyo State Fire Service responded swiftly to distress calls and contained the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to adjoining buildings.
The extent of damage to the office and its contents is yet to be ascertained. The cause of the fire remains unknown at the time of filing this report.
No casualties have been reported.
Authorities are expected to commence investigations to determine the cause of the incident.
