APM Gains Ground As Oyo South Council Chairmen Pledge Grassroots Mobilization For 2027

The nine Local Government Chairmen in Oyo South Senatorial District have declared their resolve to work for the emergence of APM candidates for Governorship, Senatorial, Federal House of Representatives and State House of Assembly seats across the senatorial district in the 2027 general elections.

The chairmen made the declaration on Tuesday during a strategic meeting held in Ibadan, where they resolved to leverage their grassroots structures to deliver the party across all elective positions in the zone.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, the forum stated that Oyo South remains a key battleground in Oyo State politics and that consolidating support for APM requires early, coordinated mobilization at the grassroots.

“Every election is won at the grassroots. As chairmen, we are closest to the people. We have resolved to work together to ensure that APM produces the next Governor of Oyo State, the next Senator for Oyo South, Federal Representatives and House of Assembly Members across our senatorial district,” the forum stated.

They noted that the people of Oyo South are yearning for purposeful leadership, accountability and development, and that APM offers the best platform to deliver that in 2027.

The meeting was attended by Hon. Shola Adeleke of Ibarapa Central, Hon. Arogundade of Ibarapa East, Hon. Ramoni of Ibadan North West, Hon. Seun Olufade of Ibadan North, Hon. Akintayo of Ibadan North East, and the Host Chairman of Ibadan South West, Honourable Kehinde Akande while Hon. Lateef of Ibarapa North, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo of Ido LG and Hon. Alawode of Ibadan South East joined virtually.

The forum concluded that with unity of purpose and commitment to the people, APM will make significant gains across Oyo South in 2027.

“Oyo South will speak with one voice in 2027. We are ready to work for APM from the ward level to deliver victory for our Governorship, Senatorial, House of Reps and House of Assembly candidates,” the chairmen said.

Oyo South Senatorial District comprises 9 Local Governments: Ibadan North, Ibadan North East, Ibadan North West, Ibadan South East, Ibadan South West, Ibarapa East, Ibarapa Central, Ibarapa North, and Ido.
