The Apata Youth Organization has elected new executives to pilot the affairs of the organization following a keenly contested election held on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Delegates from over 120 communities were accredited and participated in the election, which witnessed an impressive turnout of youths from more than 300 communities across Apata and its environs.

The Chairman of the AYO Electoral Committee, Comrade Ayo Ojelade, declared Comrade Goodluck Isaiah President-elect after he secured 63 votes, defeating other contestants in the keenly contested election.

The outgoing President, Comrade Oyeniran Olaoluwa Paul, in his remarks, appreciated the large turnout of youths and described the successful conduct of the election as a significant milestone for the organization. He also expressed his appreciation to all members and stakeholders who contributed to the success of his administration and the election.

In his acceptance speech, the President-elect, Comrade Goodluck Isaiah, expressed gratitude to the outgoing president, the Baale-in-Council and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Adewolu Rashidi Ladoja, for their fatherly roles and support towards ensuring the success of the election.

He also appreciated the elders of Apata communities, the AYO Electoral Committee, youths across the communities and members of the new executive team for their confidence and support.

The President-elect further acknowledged the presence of Alhaji Were, Secretary-General of the PMS, Oyo State Chapter, and thanked him for honouring the occasion.

Comrade Goodluck Isaiah thanked Almighty God for the successful conduct of the election and his emergence as president-elect. He pledged to run an inclusive administration that would accommodate the interests and aspirations of youths across Apata and its environs.

The newly elected Secretary, Comrade Aina Oludayo, delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating all delegates, stakeholders, electoral officials, community leaders and youths for their contributions to the peaceful and successful election.

The election marks a new chapter for the Apata Youth Organization, with the new leadership expected to build on the achievements of the outgoing administration while promoting unity, inclusiveness and youth development across the communities.
