Oyo Lawmaker, AKT Congratulates Hon Akeem Ige, Oyo Pension Board Management on National Award

The Member representing Lagelu State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Chief Whip of the House and Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Olajide Akintunde, popularly known as AKT, has congratulated the Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, and the management of the Board on the recognition of Oyo State as the Third Most Improved State in the Implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme at the 2026 National Pension Commission Conference and Awards.

Hon. Akintunde described the prestigious recognition as a testament to the commitment, dedication and administrative efficiency of the Oyo State Government in promoting a sustainable and effective pension system for local government workers and retirees.

He particularly commended Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige and the management of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board for their outstanding contributions towards strengthening pension administration and ensuring improved welfare for retired public servants.

The lawmaker also applauded the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his commitment to the implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme and his administration’s continuous efforts to improve the welfare of workers and pensioners across the state.

According to AKT the award reflects the Makinde administration’s commitment to institutional reforms, transparency and responsible governance, particularly in the management of pension matters.

He noted that the recognition would further encourage the government and the Pension Board to sustain the momentum and work towards achieving even greater milestones in pension administration.

Hon. Akintunde reaffirmed his confidence in the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde and expressed optimism that the state would continue to make remarkable progress in the implementation of policies that promote the welfare and well-being of its workforce.

He congratulated the Governor, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige and the entire management of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board on the remarkable achievement, describing it as a proud moment for Oyo State.

“This recognition is a clear indication that Oyo State is making significant progress in pension administration. I commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his visionary leadership and Hon.
