A leading governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Oloye Adegboyega Toafeek Adegoke, has described the current wave of political tensions across Nigeria as a normal occurrence in the build-up to major elections, urging party members and stakeholders to remain focused on development-driven politics.

Adegoke, who is the Aare Egbe Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, a philanthropist, and Chairman of Solutions 93.9 FM, made this known in a statement to address supporters and political associates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the flurry of political activities, alignments, and disagreements being witnessed across parties should not be seen as unusual, but rather as part of the democratic process.

“Political storms are normal in a season like this. What matters most is how leaders position themselves to deliver meaningful development to the people,” he stated.

The ADC chieftain reaffirmed his readiness to contest for the party’s gubernatorial ticket, expressing strong confidence in his chances. He declared that his ambition is driven by a genuine desire to reposition Oyo State for sustainable growth and improved governance.

“I am fully prepared to clinch the ADC gubernatorial ticket and, by the grace of God and the support of the good people of Oyo State, emerge victorious in the March 2027 governorship election with a wide margin,” Adegoke said.

He further emphasized that the African Democratic Congress in Oyo State remains united and peaceful, particularly following the recent resolution of leadership issues at the national level.

Adegoke noted that the stability within the party has strengthened its structure and positioned it as a viable alternative for voters seeking credible leadership.

“The ADC is experiencing peace and unity, especially after the national leadership judgment. This has further solidified our foundation as a party committed to progress and people-oriented governance,” he added.

The governorship hopeful also reiterated his commitment to policies and initiatives that would drive economic growth, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, and social welfare across Oyo State.

As political activities gradually intensify ahead of 2027, Adegoke called on residents of the state to remain hopeful and actively participate in shaping a better future through responsible civic engagement.
