The senatorial ambition of Honorable Akeem Ademola Ige, popularly known as “Ige Again,” received a major boost today as over ten prominent support groups under the Omi Tuntun PDP banner formally declared their support for his 2027 bid.


The endorsement took place during an interactive meeting hosted by Ademola Ige at the Omi Tuntun House, Iwo Road, Ibadan.
The groups led by their leaders, Omi Tuntun Benedict forum, Agbaakin Benedict Akika, TOMT led by Hon. Bukola Adeyemi, Omi tuntun Ladies, Hon. Busola Oladapo, , OYM Ladies, Hon. Lolade Balogun, Itanna Ogo political forum, Hon. Tunde Oyedeji, Omi tuntun Unity Forum, Hon. Comrade Akeem, Moseyi Mojere, Alhaja Abiona and Ayanseyi group by Alhaji Musa, vowed to become the “driving force” behind his aspirations to represent the Oyo South Senatorial District.

Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of the Omi Tuntun Benedict Forum, Agbaakin Benedict Akika, highlighted Ige’s 23-year political track record. He described Ige as a politician with the proven capacity to emulate Governor Seyi Makinde’s “sterling performance” at the federal level.


According to him, “Hon. Ige is well known across political lines. Based on his popularity and antecedents, the PDP is assured of victory if he secures the ticket,” Akika stated, while urging citizens to support the Governor’s popular chosen candidates to maintain the state’s developmental pace.


Addressing the gathering, Hon. Ige explained that the visit followed his successful consultations with party executives across the nine local governments in the district, spanning Ibadan to Ibarapa. He described the support groups as “people of like minds” dedicated to the success of the current administration.

“I found it necessary to interact with these groups to seek the support they have now graciously signified,” Ige said.

The event was attended by high-ranking party officials, from the PDP in Ibadan South East and Hon. Ige’s well wishers including, Pastor Ezekiel Olajide Oluwole jp chairman; Secretary Hon. Saheed Olanrewaju; youth leader, Kasim Ajibi, Prince Oyetunde, Hon. Monsurat cash madam, Mogaji Subair Olajuwon- Mogaji Ile nla, Akogun Tope Owoeye, Hon. Adekola Ribadu, Mr Rasaki Olabode, Mr Mutiu Atilola, Alhaja Abiona, Alade Sarafa, Omo jimoh, Kasim Laila and other key stakeholders, signaling a unified front as the race for the Red Chamber intensifies.
