The Member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, Oyo State, Rep. Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, has declared that Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja did not contribute to his personal and political success since he ventured into politics in 2011.
Agboworin made the declaration while addressing the issue of individuals who may claim to have played significant roles in his political journey. He maintained that his rise in politics was not a product of Arapaja’s support, stressing that his success should be attributed to God and Governor Seyi Makinde.
The federal lawmaker, who began his political journey in 2011, emphasised that his achievements and progress over the years were made possible by divine grace and the support of Governor Makinde, whom he credited as instrumental to his political growth.
He further maintained that his political achievements should be assessed based on his journey, experience and contributions to public service rather than claims of personal influence by individuals. His remarks underscored his position on those he believes have genuinely supported his political development.

The statement is likely to attract attention within Oyo State’s political circle, particularly among supporters of the Accord party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Now APM (Allied People’s Movement) and other political stakeholders familiar with the relationships among prominent political figures in the state.
Agboworin’s remarks reaffirm his position that his political success is attributable to God and Governor Makinde, dismissing any suggestion that Ambassador Arapaja played a role in his rise since 2011.
