A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Akinola Olumide, popularly known as Olumba, has explained his decision to resign from the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF) and subsequently join the Alliance Peoples Movement (APM).

Olumba, who hails from Ido Local Government Area of the state, gave the clarification in a statement posted on his Facebook page while responding to what he described as allegations and insinuations being circulated about his political activities and relationship with ROCOF.

He challenged those making allegations against him, particularly within the APC and ROCOF, to provide evidence publicly instead of engaging in what he described as “side talking.”

According to him, he formally resigned from ROCOF before joining the APM, stressing that the decision was deliberate and intended to make his political position clear.

He said he is currently working for Bimbo Adekanmbi and other candidates of the APM ahead of the 2027 political contest.

Olumba expressed surprise at the allegations allegedly being made against him, insisting that anyone with genuine accusations should come forward and substantiate them.

He also shed light on his previous relationship with Remi Oseni, disclosing that he served as Special Adviser on Power and Energy for approximately 18 months following his appointment in May 2024.

He claimed that his appointment was terminated in December 2025, adding that he was allegedly owed N30,000 for four months during the period he served under Oseni.

Olumba also denied allegations that he personally benefited from transformers linked to Oseni, questioning the basis of such claims.

“For you saying I was distributing Oseni transformers, my question is: did Oseni gift me the transformers to take home and power my house?” he asked.

He described the allegations and insinuations against him as an attempt to damage his reputation, urging those behind them to desist.

“I did this video to make clarification on what I am hearing about myself,” he said.

Olumba maintained that his decision to leave ROCOF was properly documented, stressing that his resignation letter was available to anyone interested in verifying his claim that he had formally exited the group before joining the APM.

He urged those interested in the matter to focus on verifiable facts rather than relying on rumours or political insinuations.
