The APC Unity Forum in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State, led by Hon. Oguntowo Yunusa (Protocol) has declared its support for the re-election of Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, in the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made at the country home of the federal lawmaker in Igbo-Ora, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, as members of the forum from across the ten political wards in the Local Government Area formally defected to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
Speaking on behalf of the forum, Hon. Oguntowo Yunusa said the decision to support Hon. Adepoju was not based on sentiments, party affiliation or empty political promises, but on the visible developmental strides being recorded across the constituency under his representation. He said the forum had carefully assessed the impact of Ibarapakan’s representation and was convinced that supporting his re-election was the right decision for the people of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North.
The group also pledged their support all other APM candidates, “from our Presidential Candidate, Governorship Candidate, Senatorial Candidates, House of Representatives Candidates, State House of Assembly Candidates and Local Government Chairmanship Candidates to victory in the 2026 Oyo local election and 2027 general elections.

The forum noted that residents can see the impact of Ibarapakan’s interventions across various communities, stressing that the scale and spread of the ongoing developmental projects and employment opportunities are unprecedented in the history of representation in the constituency. According to the group, the projects speak louder than political rhetoric and demonstrate a representative who is committed to delivering tangible dividends of democracy.
The defectors were formally received by Hon. Gbade Akinlolu, Hon. Saubana Oluobu, Hon. Olufunmilayo Orisadeyi and Hon. Damola Olasunsi, who represented Hon. Adepoju at the reception.
Speaking on behalf of the lawmaker, Hon. Gbade Akinlolu welcomed the defectors and described their decision as a strong endorsement of the achievements of Hon. Adepoju. He urged them to remain united and committed to the collective political project ahead of 2027.
Hon. Saubana Oladokun (Oluobu), in his remarks, commended the APC Unity Forum for choosing performance over political deceit. He said the decision to join the APM was evidence that the people were paying attention to the work being done across the constituency. “Politics should be about service, impact and the people. When the people can see what a representative is doing, they will naturally support continuity,” he said.
Also speaking, Hon. Olufunmilayo Orisadeyi described the defection as a significant development that would go a long way in strengthening the APM across Ibarapa Central. She urged the new members to see themselves as equal stakeholders in the movement, assuring them that the party would continue to operate an inclusive political structure where every member would have a voice and role to play.
The APC Unity Forum, whose members cut across all ten political wards in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area, one of the two local government areas that make up the Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, however, urged residents to support Hon. Adepoju for another term. The forum maintained that where a representative has demonstrated capacity, commitment and measurable performance, the most responsible choice is to retain such a representative and allow the ongoing transformation to continue.
