Radio Nigeria, Nigeria’s first broadcasting station and one of the country’s foremost media organisations, has honoured the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for the Ibadan South-West/North-West Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Dr. Akin Fagbemi, with the Pinnacle Performer of the Year Award.
Fagbemi received the award in recognition of his outstanding performance during his tenure as Chairman of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) and the immediate past Chairman of the Oyo State Hospital Management Board (OYSHMB).
According to the organisers, the award was conferred on him for his exemplary, astute, result-oriented and transformational leadership while serving the people of Oyo State in both capacities.
Radio Nigeria said Fagbemi distinguished himself through impactful reforms and policies that enhanced traffic management and improved healthcare service delivery in the state.
The organisers noted that the Pinnacle Performer of the Year Award is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, innovation and commitment to public service.
The award was presented at a ceremony attended by government officials, media practitioners, political leaders and other distinguished guests.
In his acceptance remarks, Fagbemi expressed gratitude to Radio Nigeria for the recognition, describing the award as a challenge to continue serving humanity with diligence, excellence and integrity.
He dedicated the award to the people of Oyo State, saying their support and confidence contributed significantly to his achievements in public office.
Fagbemi reaffirmed his commitment to delivering purposeful representation and promoting grassroots development if elected to represent the Ibadan South-West/North-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
He also pledged to continue supporting initiatives that improve the welfare of residents and foster sustainable development across the constituency.
The organisers recalled that the immediate past recipient of the Pinnacle Performer of the Year Award was the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal.
The event featured goodwill messages, award presentations and recognition of outstanding individuals whose contributions have positively impacted governance, public service and national development.
