PROMISE MADE, PROMISE KEPT: SANDA SIKIRU COMMISSIONS FOUR MOTORISED BOREHOLES ACROSS EGBEDA LG

The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, has commissioned four motorised water borehole projects across four wards of the Local Government, fulfilling another of his electioneering promises to residents.

The projects, aimed at improving access to clean and reliable water, are located in Ayede, Ward 2; Ajia-Ajiwogbo, Ward 4; Adekola/Iyana Agbala, Ward 10; and Egbeda, Ward 9.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremonies, Hon. Sanda Sikiru said the projects were conceived in response to the pressing water needs of residents, particularly in communities where access to reliable and clean water has remained a challenge.

He urged residents to protect and maintain the projects, stressing that government infrastructure could only continue to serve the people when adequately safeguarded by the benefiting communities.

According to the Chairman, his administration remains committed to translating its campaign promises into tangible projects that directly improve the lives of residents.

«“Our promises to the people are not meant to remain on campaign platforms. We made commitments, and we are determined to keep them. These motorised boreholes are another demonstration of our resolve to provide people-oriented and needs assessment projects across Egbeda Local Government.”»

He added that the administration would continue to identify critical needs across the various wards and channel available resources towards projects capable of delivering meaningful and sustainable benefits to the people.

Also speaking, the Director-General, Oyo State, Lagos and Abuja Liaison Office, Hon. Busari Olayemi, noted that water is fundamental to human survival, describing the commissioning of the boreholes as projects with multifaceted benefits for the communities.

He stressed that investments in basic infrastructure such as motorised boreholes would contribute to building greater resilience at the grassroots level.

In separate goodwill messages, residents and community leaders from the benefiting wards expressed appreciation to the Chairman for fulfilling his promise, describing the projects as timely interventions that would positively impact households and communities.

The commissioning of the four motorised boreholes further underscores the administration’s focus on grassroots development, accountability, good governance and the delivery of democratic dividends to residents of Egbeda Local Government.
