KSA Receives APC, ROCOF Defectors in Itabo, Pledges Solar-Powered Borehole

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, popularly known as KSA, has received another group of defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Remi Oseni Committees of Friends (ROCOF) in Itabo, Lanlate, Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The development occurred during KSA’s continued grassroots engagement across communities within the federal constituency, as political activities and realignments intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on behalf of the new entrants, the defectors said they decided to leave their former political platforms due to what they described as disappointment with the level of development and political representation in their community.

They expressed dissatisfaction with the prevailing political situation in the area, alleging that despite their support and mobilisation efforts during the last general election, their expectations for meaningful community development had not been met.

According to them, their decision to join the APM was motivated by their desire to identify with what they described as a more inclusive political movement with a stronger focus on grassroots engagement, participation and community development.

The new members subsequently pledged their support for KSA and other candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement in future elections.

Welcoming the defectors into the party, Engr. Adedeji assured them that the APM would provide an inclusive platform where every member would have the opportunity to participate meaningfully and contribute to the growth of the party.

KSA, who was accompanied by party leaders, including the chairmen of the APM in Ibarapa East and Ido Local Government Areas, urged the new members to remain committed to unity, peace and the collective development of the constituency.

He assured them that their decision to join the movement would be valued, stressing the need to build a political platform that remains connected to the people and responsive to their needs at the grassroots.

KSA Inspects Borehole, Pledges Intervention

A major highlight of the visit was KSA’s inspection of an ongoing borehole project in Itabo community.

The project, according to residents, was originally initiated by Hon. Yemi Taiwo but was observed to be incomplete during KSA’s visit.

After inspecting the facility and listening to residents’ concerns over access to potable water, KSA pledged to deploy engineers to assess the project and explore the possibility of completing it and converting it into a functional solar-powered borehole for the benefit of the community.

The proposed intervention was received with excitement by residents, who expressed optimism that the completion of the project would help address the community’s water challenges.

Community members and the newly received defectors also offered prayers for KSA and expressed appreciation for his engagement with the people and willingness to respond to issues raised during the visit.

The visit forms part of KSA’s ongoing consultations, grassroots engagement and political mobilisation across Ido and Ibarapa East Local Government Areas.

With political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gaining momentum, the development in Itabo, Lanlate, further reflects the ongoing political realignments and growing grassroots activities across Ibarapa East.
