The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji (KSA), has applauded the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the acquisition of two state-of-the-art surveillance aircraft to strengthen security across the state.

In a statement made available to journalists, Adedeji described the development as a landmark achievement in the state’s security architecture, saying it reflects Governor Makinde’s unwavering commitment to the safety, peace, and well-being of the people of Oyo State.

According to the APM federal constituency candidate, the deployment of the surveillance aircraft is more than a technological advancement, describing it as “a bold statement of our collective resolve to safeguard our communities, protect our families, and ensure that every citizen can live in peace.”

Adedeji noted that as security challenges continue to evolve in sophistication, governments must embrace modern technology to combat crime effectively. He explained that the new surveillance aircraft would significantly enhance intelligence gathering, improve real-time monitoring of criminal activities, and enable security agencies to respond swiftly to emerging threats across the state’s urban and rural communities.

“The vast landscape of Oyo State requires innovative security solutions. With these surveillance aircraft, we now have eyes in the sky capable of monitoring movements, identifying criminal hotspots, and supporting the rapid deployment of security personnel to areas where they are most needed,” he stated.

He added that beyond improving surveillance, the investment would strengthen the morale of security personnel while creating a safer environment for residents, businesses, investors, and visitors.

Adedeji further described the acquisition as an investment in the future of Oyo State, saying it would contribute to creating an environment where children can live without fear, businesses can flourish, and communities can continue to enjoy sustainable growth and development.

While commending Governor Makinde’s leadership, the APM candidate emphasised that effective security extends beyond law enforcement, stressing the importance of public trust, transparency, and collaboration between citizens and security agencies.

He urged residents of Oyo State to remain vigilant and continue supporting security agencies through timely information sharing and community engagement, noting that technology alone cannot eliminate insecurity without the active participation of the people.

Adedeji concluded by expressing profound appreciation to Governor Makinde for prioritising security and demonstrating visionary leadership, urging all stakeholders to work collectively towards sustaining peace, progress, and prosperity across Oyo State.

He said the acquisition of the two surveillance aircraft represents another significant milestone in the Makinde administration’s efforts to strengthen security and improve the quality of life for all residents of the state.
