Oyo south senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) and member representing Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo state in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, on friday intensified his grassroots consultations with residents of Apata and adjoining communities, urging them to actively participate in the electoral process, ahead of the 2027 general election by obtaining their permanent voter cards and exercising their franchise at the polls.
The federal lawmaker made the appeal shortly after observing the friday jumat prayer at the Ahmadiyya Mosque, Apata, Ibadan, where he met with Islamic clerics, community leaders and worshippers as part of his ongoing engagement with stakeholders across Oyo south senatorial district ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking during the visit, Olajide urged eligible Nigerians to remain committed to exercising their civic responsibility during elections, describing the ballot as the most effective instrument for determining the future of communities and the nation.
According to a statement made available to journalists by Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs to the federal lawmaker, the visit formed part of Odidiomo’s continuous consultations with residents, traditional institutions, religious bodies and community stakeholders across the senatorial district.

Addressing the congregation, the two term federal lawmaker stressed that meaningful development can only be achieved when citizens actively participate in the democratic process.
He encouraged residents, particularly young people, to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and remain peaceful and law abiding before, during and after the elections.
“The future of our communities lies in our participation. I encourage everyone who is eligible to register, collect your Permanent Voter Card and exercise your constitutional right to vote. Every vote matters in determining the quality of leadership we desire,” he said.
Olajide also reiterated his commitment to inclusive representation, assuring the people that his senatorial aspiration is driven by a desire to expand the developmental initiatives and constituency interventions he has facilitated as a member of the House of Representatives.
He noted that community development, youth empowerment, education, security, healthcare and infrastructure would remain central to his legislative priorities if elected to represent Oyo south in the senate.
In a demonstration of his continued support for religious institutions, the federal lawmaker announced a donation of 5 million naira towards the development of the Ahmadiyya Mosque, Apata.
