Oyo was awash with glamour, culture, and prestige on Sunday, 21st December 2025, as history was made with the installation of eminent personalities by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, the Alaafin of Yorubaland.

At the historic ceremony, His Excellency, Senator Abdul’Azeez Yari was installed as the Obaloyin of Yorubaland, while Barrister Oluwaseyi Tinubu was conferred with the revered title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland.
The epoch-making event attracted an extraordinary gathering of dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond.

Legislative Representation


The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, led a formidable delegation from the National Assembly. He was joined by the Senate Leader, Distinguished Senator Dr. Opeyemi Bamidele, alongside over forty serving Senators including:
