One Year In Office: Oyo Lawmaker, Hon. Babajide Gabriel, Congratulates IB’North Councilors

The lawmaker representing Ibadan North Constituency 2 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebayo Babajide Gabriel, has congratulated members of the Ibadan North Local Government Legislative Council as they mark their first year in office.

In a goodwill message released on Wednesday, Hon. Babajide Gabriel described the anniversary as a significant milestone that reflects the commitment and resilience of the councilors in delivering democratic dividends at the grassroots level.

He praised the leadership of Hon. Taiwo Adebola, the Leader of the House, for providing steady and visionary direction to the Council, adding that their legislative accomplishments over the past twelve months have reinforced the values of participatory governance.

“This one year is not just a passage of time but a testament to your dedication, discipline, and tireless service to the people of Ibadan North,” the lawmaker said.

“Your collaboration, unity, and unwavering focus on community development are truly commendable.”

Hon. Babajide Gabriel also lauded the existing harmony between the Legislative and Executive arms of the local government, particularly commending Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North, for fostering an environment of inclusive governance and effective leadership.

“The mutual respect and collaboration between the Councilors and the Chairman have yielded tangible developmental results that are evident across all twelve wards of the local government,” he noted.

The Assembly member urged the councilors to remain steadfast and people-centered in the second year of their tenure, emphasizing the need for continuity, innovation, and responsiveness in governance.

“As you step into the second year of your tenure, I encourage you to stay focused on the needs of the people, remain accountable, and uphold the integrity of your offices.

Ibadan North deserves nothing less than quality representation at every level,” he said.
