Hon. Ibrahim Olanrewaju “Omo Iya Eleja” has officially declared his intention to contest for the Chairmanship of Ibadan North-East Local Government under the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM).
Ahead of the declaration, Omo Iya Eleja on Wednesday paid a consultative visit to party stakeholders at the APM party office in Oke Adu, Ibadan. He was accompanied by all the ward chairmen in Ibadan North-East Local Government, where he sought the support, guidance, and blessings of party leaders for his aspiration.
On Thursday, Omo Iya Eleja first met with the Ibadan North-East Local Government executives at the APM party office in Oke Adu, Ibadan, where he formally presented his chairmanship ambition and reaffirmed his commitment to the party.
He subsequently met with ward executives at Akinjide Hall, Ile Aperin, Ibadan, to seek their support and share his vision for grassroots development.

Following the meeting with the ward executives, Omo Iya Eleja also met with the party’s youth wing, led by Hon. Ajibola Apesin, where he emphasized the importance of youth participation, unity, and dedication to the growth of the party.
The chairmanship hopeful later officially declared his intention to contest before party faithful during the Ibadan North-East Local Government General Meeting held at St. Cyprian Primary School, Padre, Ibadan.
Addressing party members, Omo Iya Eleja pledged to replicate the developmental strides and people-oriented governance of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, at the grassroots if elected. He assured members that his administration would be anchored on transparency, accountability, inclusiveness, and quality service delivery.
Omo Iya Eleja said his ambition is driven by a commitment to bring meaningful development closer to the people, improve local governance, and ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt across all wards in Ibadan North-East Local Government.
Omo Iya Eleja also called on party members to remain united and committed to the ideals of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), expressing confidence that the party would emerge stronger ahead of the forthcoming local government elections.
The declaration drew party executives, ward leaders, youth leaders, and party faithful, who warmly received Omo Iya Eleja’s aspiration and pledged their support for his chairmanship bid.
