For nearly seven years, residents of Olomi Olojuoro have reportedly endured the neglect of their road, waiting for intervention from their representative in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe.
However, with the 2027 general elections approaching, construction equipment has reportedly been mobilised to the road, raising questions about the timing, commitment and sustainability of the intervention.
Why now? What happened to the road over the past seven years?
Residents will recall similar developments in 2023, when machinery reportedly appeared on the road as the election approached, only for the equipment to disappear after the election without the project being completed.

Now, as another election cycle approaches, the machines are reportedly back. While any genuine effort to rehabilitate the road should be welcomed, residents have every reason to demand clarity and accountability.
Is this a renewed commitment to infrastructure development, or will the intervention once again amount to an election-season gesture?
Oluyole Federal Constituency deserves more than sporadic appearances and promises whenever elections draw near. The people deserve consistent representation, functional infrastructure, completed projects and measurable results that improve their daily lives.
The arrival of construction equipment must not be mistaken for the delivery of development. Mobilising machines to a road is only the beginning; the real achievement lies in completing the work to an acceptable standard and ensuring that residents can enjoy the benefits long after the election is over.
Promises are not projects, and the presence of machinery is not proof of a completed road.
LET THE ROAD BE COMPLETED, NOT JUST PARADED!
Before casting their votes, residents of Oluyole should ask critical questions:
1. Why has the road reportedly remained in poor condition for so long?
2. Why does construction activity appear to intensify as elections approach?
3. What concrete assurances can residents receive that the project will be completed, rather than abandoned after the election?
4. What is the project’s completion timeline, and who will be held accountable if the deadline is missed?
These are legitimate questions in a democracy, not an attack on anyone. Public infrastructure projects should be assessed by their impact on the people, not merely by the timing of their commencement.
Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe and the relevant authorities should provide clear answers and demonstrate their commitment through sustained work on the road.
The people of Oluyole deserve reliable roads, responsible representation and development that continues beyond campaign season.
Let the machines keep working. Let the road be completed. Let the people see the results before they are asked for another mandate.
Oluyole voters deserve results, not recurring political drama. Ultimately, the strongest campaign message is not the arrival of machinery but a completed road that residents can use with confidence.
