_…Says Platform is Non-Partisan, Cites Constitution Article II & V – “Desist or Face Consequences”…_
The leadership of the *Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), Oyo State Chapter*, has issued a final warning to all its leaders and members to immediately desist from posting partisan political materials on its official state platform or face severe sanctions.
In a strongly worded official memorandum signed by the State Executive Council, the Congress expressed grave concern over the increasing use of its official Leaders Loop for the circulation of party logos, campaign posters, political endorsements and partisan commentaries.
The State Chairman described the act as alien to the character and constitutional foundation of the NYC and a flagrant violation of its extant Constitution.
*Citing the Constitution, the Council stated👇:*
> “Article II, Section 1 & 2 of the NYC Constitution clearly declares the Congress as a registered, non-governmental, non-partisan, non-religious and not-for-profit youth organization which shall at all times remain non-partisan and shall not be deployed for promotion of any political party.”
> “Article V, Section 4(c) provides that any member who engages in partisan politics using the name, logo or platform of the Congress shall be liable to suspension, removal from official platforms and outright expulsion.”
The Council clarified that the Oyo State Leaders Platform was created solely for the coordination of youth development programmes and dissemination of official information, not for political propaganda.
*DIRECTIVE👇:* All members are hereby directed to cease forthwith the posting of any partisan political content. Defaulters will be removed from the loop without further notice and recommended for further disciplinary action to the National Secretariat in Abuja.
The Congress reaffirmed its commitment to discipline, unity and non-partisanship.
