Fresh concerns have emerged within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State over the political activities of former Head of Service, Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan, with some party members alleging that many of those attending her recent engagements are not committed APC loyalists.
The gatherings around the former Head of Service with “rented crowds” of 5 buses and #2,500 stipend, such supporters are not loyal to the party when it matters most during elections. Questioning the timing of some of the political activities, noting that Sunday is traditionally not designated for official party meetings in many APC structures across the state.
The concerned stakeholders further contended that Mrs. Ogunesan’s perceived political strength does not reflect the level of popularity being projected in certain quarters. According to them, the established leadership and grassroots structures of the party across Oyo North Senatorial District have already made their positions known on issues affecting the party and remain committed to strengthening the APC ahead of future elections.
The party faithful called on APC leaders at both the state and national levels to engage Mrs. Ogunesan and members of her political camp to ensure that every tendency within the party works towards unity rather than actions capable of creating division or weakening the APC in Oyo North and across Oyo State.

They maintained that party cohesion remains essential if the APC is to reclaim political dominance in Oyo State, urging all aspirants and stakeholders to respect existing party structures and promote internal harmony.
The stakeholders also appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as the national leader of the APC, to closely monitor developments within the party in Oyo State and encourage reconciliation among all interest groups. According to them, timely intervention from the national leadership would help preserve the unity and electoral fortunes of the APC in the state.
