The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has sustained the momentum of his statewide consultations ahead of the 2027 governorship election, taking his campaign to the Ogbomoso zone where he engaged key party stakeholders on his ambition.

The high-profile meeting, held in Ogbomoso, brought together leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Oriire, Surulere, and Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Areas.

The gathering was hosted by the Chairman of the Oyo State Elders Council, Dr. Saka Balogun, and other PDP leaders in the zone

Addressing the gathering, Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin appreciated the PDP leaders and supporters across Ogbomosoland for their loyalty to the party, and said his vision will be anchored on the simple principle of Oyo first, Oyo always

He described his approach to governance as firmly people-oriented, stressing that every policy and programme under his leadership would be guided by the needs and aspirations of the citizens.

The Speaker assured stakeholders that his administration would prioritise inclusive growth, responsive governance, and policies that directly impact the lives of the people across all communities.

A major highlight of the meeting was the presentation of his policy blueprint, IGBEGA OYO Omituntun 3.0 Roadmap, which outlines his vision for economic growth, infrastructural development, and social advancement to the stakeholders in Ogbomosoland.

The roadmap is designed as a forward-looking strategy to consolidate existing gains while introducing new initiatives aimed at accelerating progress in Oyo State.

In his remarks, Dr. Saka Balogun described the Speaker as a humble and administratively capable leader, expressing confidence in his ability to steer the affairs of the state.

He also reflected on the political legacy of the Speaker’s late father, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin whom he described as a thoroughbred politician, community leader, and philanthropist, noting that Ogundoyin has demonstrated the qualities of a “round peg in a round hole.”

Speaking earlier on the purpose of the visit, prominent figures from Ibarapaland including former Commissioner for Information and Culture, Hon. Moses Ojoawo, former House of Representatives member, Hon. Yemi Taiwo, and former Commissioner for Environment, Majekodunmi Aborode, highlighted the need for early consultations and unity among party stakeholders as the 2027 race approaches.

They said they came to solicit the support of all and sundry for the 2027 Governorship ambition of their son, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.
