Come January 16, 2027, the people of Ogun West Senatorial District will once again exercise their constitutional right to choose who will represent them at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly.
As Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, prepares to complete his tenure, attention is increasingly turning to the man positioned to succeed him in Ogun West: Hon. Jimoh Olushola Ojugbele Ojuyayi, the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Ojugbele Ojuyayi is a legislator whose record of representation has earned him recognition across the Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency. His supporters point to his legislative interventions, constituency engagements and development-oriented initiatives as evidence of his capacity to take on a broader representative responsibility.
Indeed, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi has publicly described Ojuyayi as a successor in whom he is pleased, underscoring the relationship and confidence between the two lawmakers.
Like Senator Yayi, Hon. Ojuyayi has built his legislative profile around constituency engagement, empowerment and human-capital development. His interventions have included economic empowerment initiatives, support for women and widows, assistance for people living with disabilities, educational support for pupils and students, healthcare assistance, support for medical treatment, and training and financial assistance for farmers, artisans and professional groups.
His supporters also highlight his efforts in facilitating employment opportunities for youths and supporting constituents through various federal and state programmes.
Beyond social interventions, Hon. Ojuyayi has been associated with infrastructural development across his constituency. These include road construction and rehabilitation, school infrastructure, healthcare facilities, market shops and the facilitation of government interventions in critical infrastructure.
