Nigeria 2027: Agbajowo Movement Urges Nigerians Not to Miss Makinde’s Reset Opportunity

The Agbajowo Movement, a socio-political movement in Oyo State, has urged Nigerians to pay close attention to the presidential ambition of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the recently unveiled Reset Nigeria Agenda, describing it as an opportunity to chart a new course for the country.

The movement made the call during a brief telephone conversation with its Convener, Prince Adeyemo Adedeji Ola, who expressed optimism about the various thematic areas contained in the Reset Nigeria Agenda.

According to Ola, the agenda, as presented by the Makinde/Daura campaign, offers Nigerians a fresh perspective on addressing some of the country’s major challenges, particularly in the areas of the economy, security, governance and national development.

He said the 2027 election provides Nigerians with an opportunity to critically examine the different visions being presented by political actors and consider the kind of leadership capable of addressing the realities confronting the country.

Ola argued that Nigeria cannot continue along a path that, in his view, places excessive economic pressure on ordinary citizens while failing to adequately address insecurity, unemployment and other social challenges.

He maintained that the country requires fresh ideas, renewed energy and leaders who understand the realities of a rapidly changing world, particularly the growing importance of technology, innovation and a knowledge-driven economy.

“Gone are the days of recycling old wines in new bottles,” Ola said, stressing the need for a new generation of leadership with the capacity to respond to contemporary challenges.

He further described Governor Makinde’s experience in Oyo State as part of the reason he believes the governor should be given serious consideration at the national level.

According to him, Makinde’s aspiration is not simply about occupying the presidency but about bringing a new approach to governance, strengthening national unity and repositioning Nigeria for greater economic and social development.

Ola therefore called on Nigerians, particularly young people, to take a closer look at the Reset Nigeria Agenda and participate actively in the 2027 electoral process.

He also appealed to older political actors who may be interested in the presidency to reconsider their ambitions and support what he described as a generational opportunity, suggesting that their experience could still be valuable in advisory and other strategic roles.

As the 2027 election approaches, he urged Nigerians to look beyond political rhetoric and carefully examine the ideas, programmes and leadership records presented by all candidates before making their choices.
