It was a significant political gathering in Ibadan North as Bashorun Adekunle Oladeji, popularly known as OMOBAO, formally identified with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), alongside a large number of his supporters.
According to organisers of the event, over 300 supporters joined the movement alongside Bashorun Oladeji.
The declaration attracted a large gathering of APM members, supporters and political stakeholders who came out to receive Oladeji and his team.
I was personally present at the event and witnessed the proceedings firsthand. The atmosphere was vibrant, with supporters expressing enthusiasm over Oladeji’s decision to identify with the APM, amid increasing political activities across Ibadan North ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The development follows Oladeji’s earlier public engagement with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the APM governorship candidate, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, during which he indicated his intention to join the APM.
His latest declaration adds to the series of political movements, engagements and realignments taking place in Ibadan North as political parties and groups intensify preparations ahead of the 2027 elections.
For APM members and supporters present at the gathering, the arrival of Oladeji and his supporters represents another mobilisation effort for the party within the constituency.
The attached video captures scenes from the event, including the reception accorded Bashorun Oladeji and the large crowd that gathered.

As the 2027 political season approaches, Ibadan North continues to witness new political engagements, movements and declarations involving various political parties and actors.
The journey has only begun.
