“Makinde Has Our Full Support” — Ido PDP Leaders Dismiss Impeachment Rumours, Pledge Loyalty to Governor

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State have dismissed circulating rumours about an alleged impeachment plot against Governor Seyi Makinde, reaffirming their unwavering support for the governor and his administration.

Speaking on behalf of the party leadership in the local government, the Ido PDP Chairman, Alhaji Emiola Musibau, described the claims as baseless distractions aimed at creating unnecessary tension within the state’s political landscape.

According to him, the PDP structure in Ido remains firmly united and fully aligned with the leadership of Governor Makinde, whose administration he said has continued to deliver meaningful development across Oyo State.

“We want to make it clear that the PDP in Ido Local Government stands solidly behind His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde. The rumours about impeachment are nothing but falsehood designed to distract the government from its focus on development,” he said.

The PDP chairman noted that the party leadership in the area, under the guidance of the overall leader of the PDP in Ido Local Government, Alhaji Muyili Yusuf, remains committed to strengthening the party and supporting the governor’s developmental agenda.

He further acknowledged the contributions of key party stakeholders in the local government, including the Oyo State PDP Auditor, Alhaji Akinsola Ayuba, who he said has consistently worked with other leaders to ensure unity and stability within the party.

Also lending his voice, the PDP candidate for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, reaffirmed his confidence in Governor Makinde’s leadership and dismissed the impeachment rumours as politically motivated and unfounded. He emphasized that the governor has continued to demonstrate visionary leadership and remains focused on delivering democratic dividends to the people of Oyo State.

Engr. Adedeji called on party members and supporters across the constituency to remain calm, united, and focused on strengthening the PDP, noting that attempts to create division within the party would not succeed.

Musibau, however, urged party members and the general public to disregard the impeachment rumours, stressing that the PDP family in Ido is focused on consolidating the achievements of the Makinde administration and promoting continued progress across the state.

He also called on political actors to prioritize peace and responsible engagement in the interest of democracy and the overall development of Oyo State.
