The Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, has congratulated the Oyo State Government and the leadership of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board on the state’s emergence as the Third Most Improved State in the Implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme.
The recognition was conferred at the 2026 National Pension Commission Conference and Awards.
In a statement issued on the development, Hon. Kamorudeen described the national ranking as a significant milestone that reflects the deliberate and sustained efforts of the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde to reform pension administration and safeguard the welfare of local government workers and retirees across the state.
He particularly praised the Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, and the entire management team of the Board for their diligence, professionalism and results-oriented approach that culminated in the prestigious national honour.

“This award is a well-deserved acknowledgement of the hard work and commitment of Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige and his team. It demonstrates that when leadership is purposeful and institutions are properly guided, measurable progress is inevitable,” the Lagelu council boss stated.
Hon. Kamorudeen also lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for providing the enabling policy environment and political will that have strengthened the Contributory Pension Scheme in the state. He noted that the governor’s consistent focus on institutional reforms, transparency and the welfare of public servants continues to yield positive outcomes that elevate the state’s standing nationally.
The chairman expressed confidence that the recognition would serve as further motivation for the Pension Board and relevant stakeholders to consolidate existing gains and pursue higher standards in pension management for the benefit of workers and retirees.
