BREAKING: ISEYIN APM POLITICAL STAKEHOLDERS REJECT INCUMBENT CHAIRMAN HON. FADIRAN RASAQ BISI’S SECOND-TERM BID, SEEK GOVERNOR MAKINDE’S INTERVENTION

Some stakeholders and members of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Iseyin Local Government have reportedly expressed opposition to the second-term ambition of the incumbent Local Government Chairman, Hon. Fadiran Rasaq Bisi.

According to the aggrieved party members, the opposition is based on the need for fairness, equity, and wider political inclusion across the various wards in Iseyin Local Government.

They noted that both the immediate past Local Government Chairman, Hon. Osuolale Muftau Abilawon, and the incumbent Chairman, Hon. Fadiran Rasaq Bisi, are from Isalu Ward. They also pointed out that the party’s current House of Assembly candidate is from the same ward, arguing that other wards should be given the opportunity to produce key political office holders.

The stakeholders maintained that Iseyin Local Government has many qualified individuals across its wards who are capable of serving the people and should be considered for leadership positions.

They further highlighted Hon. Fadiran Rasaq Bisi’s long history of public service, stating that he has occupied several government and party positions since 2006, including:

– Local Government Secretary during the administration of the late Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala (2006–2007).
– Iseyin Local Government Party Chairman (2011–2015).
– Special Adviser on Trade and Investment (2019–2023).
– Coordinator of the Iseyin Local Government Campaign Directorate (2023).
– Current Chairman of Iseyin Local Government.

The concerned party members argued that, in the interest of balance and inclusiveness, another qualified individual from a different ward should be given the opportunity to lead the council.

They therefore appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to intervene in the matter and ensure that the selection process reflects fairness, equity, and the collective interest of the party in Iseyin Local Government.
