Youths in Ido Local Government of Oyo State has applauded the Executive Chairman of their great local government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo for his initiative of promoting love and harmony among youths of his council through sponsorship of just concluded football competition tagged “IDO LE TENTE FOOTBALL COMPETITION” which brought together men of all ages from the 10 wards.
They made this know after the final match between Ward 9 and Ward 10 on Sunday evening at Ido High School Field.
They described the competition as first of it’s kind in the history of grassroots football competition in Ido local government.
The first half match was kicked start by Oyo State PDP Auditor- Alhaji Ayuba Akinsola around 4.45 pm while it ended with no score from both sides at 5.15pm.
More so, the second half match was kicked start by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo around 5.30pm and it ended with no score from both sides.
Therefore, after the friendly final match between Ward 9 and Ward 10, both teams were declared winners following a 13-13 penalty shootout.
Hon. Sheriff Adeojo while presenting the cash gifts and gold medals to the winners appreciated the players for the spirit of family love they all demonstrated throughout the matches while he charged all youths, residents and citizens to emulate this by living together as one big family.
“Most especially my PDP family, let us stay together and demonstrate sincere love to one and another as one big family because their is no place like home” Hon. Sheriff Adeojo pleaded.
In his vote of thanks messages, the supervisory councillor for youths and sports, Otunba Oladimeji Fakayode appreciated all and sundry that contributed in one way or the other in making IDO LE TENTE Football Competition a huge success.
He gave a big kudos to the Executive Chairman for his cooperation and timely financial support for the competition. Otunba Oladimeji also commended the Ido PDP party leaders, stakeholders and youths for their moral support so far.
Other personalities at the event include, the Ido Local Government PDP Chairman – Hon. Musibau Emiola, the Leader of Ido local government Legislative Chamber – Hon. Adedeji Adebowale, the ward 6 councilor and chairman house committee on sports – Hon. Lukman Olabimiji, other Honourable Councillors, Supervisory Councillors, Special Assistants, the Head of Local Government Administration- Alhaji Aminu Sarafadeen, the Directors, NULGE executives, the representatives of Onido of Ido Land ;Oloye Muyideen Adetola- Ekarun Onido, the Iyalode of Ido Land – Alhaja Amudalat, security operatives, Staff and youths.
