Ibadan South West Local Government Chairmanship aspirant, Alhaji Hassan Bello, has congratulated Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on the seventh anniversary of his administration, describing it as “seven years of deliberate, people-focused governance” that has set a standard for grassroots development.
In a congratulatory message released to newsmen in Ibadan on Wednesday, Bello said Makinde’s tenure since May 2019 has been marked by visible transformation in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and security across the state.
“On behalf of my family, supporters, and the good people of Ibadan South West, I heartily congratulate His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, on seven remarkable years of service to Oyo State,” Bello stated. “His administration has shown that government can work when it is guided by data, accountability, and direct impact on the people.”
The chairmanship aspirant specifically praised the reconstruction and dualisation of key roads that have improved intra-city and inter-city movement, as well as the rehabilitation of primary healthcare centers across the 33 local governments.

“From Ring Road to Challenge, and across our LGs, residents can feel the difference. The upgrade of PHCs means our mothers, children, and elderly now have better access to quality care at the grassroots,” he said.
Bello also commended Makinde’s investment in public schools, recruitment of teachers, and prioritization of Technical and Vocational Education and Training, TVET, to equip Oyo youths with practical skills. On security, he applauded sustained funding for Operation Burst and the Amotekun Corps, noting that it has helped stabilize the state.
“Security is the bedrock of development. The governor’s political will in this sector has given investors and residents confidence,” Bello added.
As he campaigns for the Ibadan South West LG chairmanship, Bello pledged to align his proposed agenda with the governor’s Omituntun 2.0 vision if elected. He promised to prioritize inner road rehabilitation, market upgrades, primary healthcare improvement, and youth skills acquisition within the council.
“The template for good governance has been set at the state level. At the local government, we must localize those gains so they reach the last man in Bere, Ogunmola, and Oke-Ado,” he said.
Hassano concluded with prayers for the governor’s continued wisdom and strength as he leads Oyo State. “May God grant you more grace to finish strong. Oyo is moving forward,” he prayed.
