Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has congratulated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde and his wife, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, on their conferment as Asoludero and Yeye Asoludero of Ibarapa Land, respectively.
In his congratulatory message on Saturday, September 5, 2026, Hon. Adepoju described the conferment as a fitting recognition of the Governor and his wife’s remarkable bond with the people of Ibarapa, noting that the honour goes beyond a traditional title to represent the appreciation and affection of a people who have witnessed the Governor’s commitment to their development and wellbeing.
According to him, the ongoing Ido-Eruwa Road rehabilitation remains one of the clearest demonstrations of the Governor’s commitment to transforming infrastructure in the region. He applauded the Governor for his assurance that the road would be completed before December and delivered without a single pothole, describing the commitment as a significant intervention that will improve transportation, stimulate economic activities and strengthen connectivity between Ibarapa and other parts of Oyo State.
The federal lawmaker also commended the Asoludero of Ibarapa Land for his people-oriented policies and genuine love for the people of Ibarapa, stressing that the Governor has consistently demonstrated that Ibarapa occupies a special place in his administration.

He described it as a demonstration of the Governor’s special bond with the region that Ibarapa Land is the first region in Oyo State from which he has received a chieftaincy title since his election as Governor in 2019.
Hon. Adepoju also expressed appreciation to Governor Makinde for his sincerity and honesty concerning the future of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo-Ora. Ibarapakan praised the Governor for assuring the people that the institution could benefit from a major intervention, including the possibility of upgrading it into a university campus and introducing degree programmes.
He noted that such an intervention would have far-reaching benefits for Ibarapa, particularly by expanding access to higher education, creating opportunities for young people and strengthening the region’s agricultural and human-capital development.
He said the Governor’s willingness to speak honestly with the people about the institution, rather than making empty promises, demonstrates a leadership style built on trust, transparency and accountability.
The lawmaker equally commended Governor Makinde over the Eruwa Farm Settlement, describing the project as a potentially transformative agricultural investment for Ibarapa and Oyo State at large. He praised the Governor for making it clear that the development is a continuous process and that his administration remains fully committed to ensuring its success.
According to Adepoju, a successful Eruwa Farm Settlement has the potential to unlock the agricultural wealth of Ibarapa, create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities, empower farmers and young entrepreneurs, attract investment, enhance food production and strengthen the region’s position as a major agricultural hub.
He said the Governor’s continued interest in the project is particularly commendable because sustainable agricultural development requires consistency, patience and long-term investment rather than one-off interventions.
“Your Excellency, the people of Ibarapa have seen your commitment, they have felt the impact of your policies and they have heard your promises. More importantly, they have seen your willingness to stand by those promises. The conferment of the titles of Asoludero and Yeye Asoludero is therefore a celebration of a relationship that has grown beyond politics into one of mutual respect, affection and shared aspirations for the development of our land,” he remarked.
Hon. Adepoju prayed that Almighty God would continue to grant Governor Makinde and his wife good health, wisdom, strength and divine guidance to successfully complete their service to Oyo State and leave behind an enduring legacy of development.
He also prayed for continued peace, unity and prosperity across Ibarapa Land, expressing confidence that the relationship between the Governor and the people of Ibarapa would continue to produce greater development and opportunities for generations to come.
