Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has graced the turbaning ceremony of Hon. Lateef Adebare Akorede as the first Aare Musulumi of Ayete Land.
Hon. Akorede, the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government, who also doubles as the candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) for the Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North State Constituency in the 2027 general election, was bestowed with the distinguished title on Saturday, August 29, by the Muslim community in Ayete Land.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Adepoju congratulated Hon. Akorede on his conferment as the first Aare Musulumi of Ayete Land, describing the honour as a reflection of his contributions to the development and well-being of the community.
As part of his support for the Muslim community, Hon. Adepoju donated the sum of N1 million to the Ayete Central Mosque. He thanked the community for honouring his brother, Hon. Akorede and prayed for wisdom and success as he assumes his new responsibilities.

The federal lawmaker described Hon. Akorede’s five-year stewardship as Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government as impressive, noting that his leadership and service to the people have earned him several recognitions and honours both within and beyond the local government.
The ceremony attracted dignitaries, political leaders, Islamic scholars, traditional leaders, community members and well-wishers, who gathered to celebrate the conferment of the prestigious title on the local government boss.
