Ibarapa East Local Government Council Secretariat, Eruwa, was filled with excitement and jubilation as the management and staff of the Local Government, alongside leaders, stakeholders and members of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), warmly welcomed the Executive Chairman, Hon. Kazeem Owolabi Arogundade, following his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate in the forthcoming local government election.
The local government senatorial chairman, Alhaji Kamorudeen Adeyemi, while addressing the party faithful and other stakeholders in a colourful gathering held at the local government hall, said the programme is in accordance with the directive of His Excellency, Engr. Abiodun Mankinde and in compliance with the OYSIEC’s deadline for the official submission of the names of the Chairman, Vice Chairman and the councillors for the forthcoming Local Government election.
He appealed to all party faithful to work together as one united family. He emphasised that unity, loyalty and cooperation among members would guarantee the party’s success at the polls, urging everyone to set aside personal interests and embrace teamwork for the overall progress of the party.
In his welcome address, the APM Chairman in Ibarapa East Local Government, Alhaji Aderibigbe Ganiyu, expressed appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, and members for their steadfast commitment to the party. He welcomed everyone to the official introduction of the consensus candidates and described the occasion as a significant step towards ensuring victory for the party in the forthcoming local government election. He urged members to remain united and committed to the collective interest of the party.

The Party Secretary, Hon. Ogundele Sunday, formally introduced all the consensus candidates to the gathering. They include the Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Kazeem Owolabi Arogundade; Vice Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Adepoju Adebodun; Ward 1 Councillorship Candidate, Hon. Olayiwola Idowu Osuolale; Ward 2, Hon. Salami Ismail Akinyele; Ward 3, Hon. Opadoja Olugbenga Olanrewaju; Ward 4, Hon. Adesope Gbemileke Abiodun; Ward 5, Hon. Olasunkanmi Akintola; Ward 6, Hon. Adeyemi Johnson Adewale; Ward 7, Hon. Ganiyu Azeez Adedayo; Ward 8, Hon. Idowu Tayo Abiodun; Ward 9, Hon. Samuel Sunday Bamiji; and Ward 10, Hon. Acarina Rasaq Ademola.
In his goodwill message, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Edward Ogundoyin, ably represented by his Personal Assistant, Hon. Samson Seun Ololade, described the emergence of the consensus candidates as the outcome of a rigorous, transparent and credible process conducted with fairness and dignity. He congratulated all the candidates and reminded them that the mandate bestowed upon them should be regarded as a call to selfless service rather than personal achievement. He also appealed to aspirants who did not emerge on the consensus list to remain committed to the unity and progress of the party by working wholeheartedly for its victory in the forthcoming election.
In his acceptance speech, the APM Chairmanship Consensus Candidate, Hon. Kazeem Owolabi Arogundade, expressed profound appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders, principal officers, management and staff of the Local Government, as well as party members, for the confidence reposed in him.
He described his emergence as a great responsibility and pledged to uphold the values of accountability, inclusiveness and quality service delivery.
Hon. Arogundade further appealed to other aspirants to embrace peace and unity, stressing that the collective interest of the party should take precedence over individual ambitions. He urged every member to work together to secure a resounding victory for the APM in the forthcoming local government election, assuring the people of Ibarapa East of his continued commitment to grassroots development and good governance.
