The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has successfully conducted its Chairmanship and Councillorship primary elections in Ido Local Government ahead of the forthcoming 2026 local government elections in Oyo State.
At the end of the keenly contested chairmanship primary, Hon. Rasaq Mabaje emerged as the party’s Chairmanship candidate after securing victory in the exercise, earning the confidence of delegates to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming election.
The primary election, which was conducted peacefully and transparently, also produced the party’s councillorship candidates across the various wards in Ido Local Government.
Party leaders commended delegates for their orderly conduct throughout the exercise and urged all aspirants and their supporters to embrace unity and work together for the overall success of the party in the forthcoming local government elections.

In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Rasaq Mabaje expressed gratitude to the party leadership, delegates, and supporters for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to justify the mandate by running an inclusive campaign focused on grassroots development and the progress of Ido Local Government.
The successful conduct of the primaries is seen as another step in APM’s preparations for the 2026 local government elections in Oyo State.
