The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ibarapa-East Local Government Chapter, has endorsed the senatorial ambition of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, alongside the presidential ambition of Governor Seyi Makinde and the governorship aspiration of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced on Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Anko, Eruwa, during the second day of Odidiomo’s political tour of the Ibarapa zone.
Speaking on behalf of the Christian body, Canon Babatunde said the Christian community had taken note of Odidiomo’s developmental interventions across Ibarapaland, expressing confidence that he would deliver greater legislative dividends if elected to represent Oyo South Senatorial District in the Senate.
Commending the developmental strides of the present administration in Oyo State, Canon Babatunde said the Christian community had resolved to support the Odidiomo, Adekanmbi and Makinde political alliance to sustain good governance and socio-economic development.

“Charity begins at home; all of us here are living witnesses to the great effort put into the development of Oyo State by the present government, and we are quite optimistic that the future is even brighter with this dedicated team,” he stated.
He further assured that Christian leaders in Ibarapa-East would sustain their prayers and grassroots mobilisation efforts towards promoting good governance, peace and development across Oyo State and Nigeria.
In his response, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo expressed appreciation to the Christian body for its endorsement, pledging to prioritise human capital development, youth empowerment and equitable infrastructural distribution across the Ibarapa region.
The federal lawmaker, who currently represents Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, assured the religious leaders that his proposed senatorial representation would be guided by inclusivity, transparency and accountability.
He outlined key areas of legislative focus for the agrarian communities, including rural security, access roads, water supply schemes and efforts to attract direct federal funding for local economic development initiatives.
Odidiomo Pays Royal Homage to Eleruwa
Earlier during the second day of the tour, Odidiomo and his entourage paid a royal visit to the palace of the Eleruwa of Eruwa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola, where he was received alongside members of the traditional council.
Addressing the monarch, the APM senatorial candidate presented his vision for Oyo South Senatorial District and sought the royal father’s blessings and guidance ahead of the 2027 election.
In his response, Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola commended Odidiomo for his constituency performance and philanthropic interventions across the state.
The monarch offered royal blessings for his senatorial ambition and urged him to remain committed to the peace, unity and overall development of Eruwa and the entire Ibarapaland.
The engagements formed part of Odidiomo’s ongoing consultations and grassroots mobilisation across Ibarapaland as he seeks to strengthen support for his 2027 senatorial ambition.
