The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has again demonstrated his administration’s commitment to grassroots development with the commissioning of two motorised boreholes in Ward 5 and Ward 7 of the local government.

In addition to the boreholes, the chairman also donated generating sets to power the facilities, ensuring consistent water supply for the benefiting communities.

The boreholes, located at Inu Koko in Ward 5 and Okeremi, Rufai Street, Coca-Cola area in Ward 7, are part of ongoing efforts to improve access to clean and safe water across communities in Ibadan North.

The first commissioning took place at Inu Koko, Ward 5, within the premises of a health centre earlier donated by the late former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi (Jagaban).

Speaking at the event, the President of the Muslim Community in Inu Koko, Imam Nurudeen Ogunsola, expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Olufade for fulfilling his promise to provide a borehole for the community.

Adewumi Adeagbo, hon. Modinat; Special Assistant, Hon. Isiaka Saheed Adekunle (Obama); and other political appointees for their roles in facilitating the project.

The borehole was officially commissioned by the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Deacon Olabode Abayomi Ajebisi, alongside the Ibadan North PDP Chairman, Comrade Mustapha Ademuyiwa, and the Leader of the House, Hon. Taiwo Adebola.

The second project was commissioned at Okeremi, Rufai Street, Coca-Cola area in Ward 7, where community members also expressed gratitude for the intervention.

Speaking on behalf of the community president, Otunba Olufemi Ayeni appreciated the council chairman for addressing the persistent water challenges in the area. He also urged the beneficiaries to take proper care of the facilities, including the generators, to ensure their sustainability, while appreciating the management staff for their contributions toward the successful execution of the projects.
