In a heartwarming display of community service and philanthropy, the Ibadan Descendants Development Union (IDDU) Canada chapter recently presented essential gift items to Adeoyo Maternity Hospital in Yemetu, Ibadan. This thoughtful gesture demonstrates the union’s commitment to giving back to their roots and improving the lives of their people.

The donation ceremony took place at the hospital premises, where IDDU Canada representatives handed over the gift items to the hospital management. The donated items included vital medical equipment, bedding, and linens, all aimed at enhancing the hospital’s capacity to provide quality care to patients.

According to IDDU Canada’s President, Alhaji Taiwo Azeez Akere, the union recognizes the importance of supporting the healthcare system in Ibadan, particularly in maternity care. “We understand the challenges faced by our community, and as a union, we are dedicated to making a positive impact,” he stated.

IDDU president, Alhaji Taiwo Azeez Akere emphasized the importance of supporting healthcare infrastructure in Ibadan, stating, “Our community’s well-being is a top priority, and we must continue to work together to ensure our healthcare system receives the necessary support.

Alhaja Asamu Ademola, the former president and longest-serving president of the Ibadan Descendants Development Union expressed her delight for the donation of gift items to Adeoyo Maternity Hospital by the IDDU Canada chapter noted that IDDU Canada chapter continuing the legacy of giving back to our community. The donation of essential items to Adeoyo Maternity Hospital is a testament to the union’s commitment to improving the lives of our people.

The event was well attended by Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr Oluwaseresimi Ajetunmobi, Chairman for Hospital Management Board , Dr Akin Fagbemi, Chairman for Local Government Pension Board, Hon. Damola Akeem Ige, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health,Permanent Secretary, Hospital Management Board,Ibadan Canadian Development Union Members.

Adeoyo Maternity Hospital’s management expressed their gratitude for the thoughtful donation, acknowledging the significant difference it will make in their ability to deliver quality healthcare services.

This charitable act by IDDU Canada sets a remarkable example for community service and reinforces the union’s dedication to the well-being of their people. Their generosity will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the lives of many in Ibadan.
